Spring 2013 

Philip Munroe, switch-hitting 2nd baseman for Olympia High School, marked his senior year with an impressive hitting streak:  One or more hits in 10 consecutive games!

Philip also had several games with multiple RBIs.  Philip has averaged .333. This included two triples, two doubles and 5 RBIs, along with more than 5 stolen bases. Philip has been highlighted in The Orlando Sentinel, on Bright House Sports  and WFTV Ch. 9 sports (see below)! 

 


More Highlights

Philip had a breakthrough year in his Junior year in  baseball and received national recognition from USSA Baseball and prospect wire for his achievements on the field.

  • He was selected and participated in USSA Baseball MVP invitational held in Atlanta, GA., and represented the Florida team as a middle infielder
  • Selected and participated in MLB/USSA Breakthrough series held in Raleigh/Durham, NC and played for one of the national select teams as a middle infielder
  • Named one of the top middle infielders by Prospect wire for his play and switch hitting display as a participant in Florida Travel Baseball (FTB) Showcase
  • Played in all the featured showcase tournaments for Scorpions Next Level baseball team
  • Played on Varsity at shortstop for Olympia High School the #1 nationally ranked, and first area regular season undefeated  team in history – He successfully executed a double steal against arch rival Dr. Phillips High School to complete the undefeated regular season 25-0
  • He is a currently the starting second baseman for the 2013 Olympia High School team and received recognition from the Orlando Sentinel and Bright House High School Sports broadcast for his on field play on several occasion this season
  • He is being actively recruited by several Florida and out of state teams to continue his baseball career at the next level
